PISTOL PERMIT INSTRUCTION

If your goal is to receive a certificate stating you attended a pistol permit class then the size of the class does not matter.

However if you truly wish to learn how to handle handguns safely and how to shoot straight and true, then choose a class with the fewest students

Thanks for visiting my website

Before I introduce myself let me say that the instruction you will receive in my pistol permit class as in any of my classes will be administered with the same dedication to training for which I have been recognized and commended so many times before during my tours of duty with the United States Marines, the New Haven Police Department and the Army National Guard.

My introduction to handguns began as a rookie New Haven Police officer and it wasn't long before I was shooting with the New Haven Police pistol team and later on I became coach and captain. I was very fortunate to have had two excellent instructors and mentors who were instrumental in my developing into a National Combat Pistol Champion.

As a former instructor with the New Haven Police Department I have had the privilege to instruct law enforcement officers in the use of firearms, armed defensive tactics, aerosol irritants, riot control and SWAT team tactics.

From the training I received as a graduate of the FBI Academy Special Weapons and Tactical School, I was tasked with the development and training of the first SWAT Team for the city of New Haven. It followed that the New Haven Police Academy became the center for regional law enforcement SWAT team training in the early 1970's.

Although I served four years of active duty with the United States Marine Corps I decided to enlist in the Connecticut Army National Guard. I quickly became a member of the Guard Pistol Team and an occasional member of the rifle team. Once again I was honored to learn from as well as shoot with and coach some of the most outstanding pistol and rifle shooters in the country.

Many Thanks
